The SoCal Fire Poster Project was created to raise funds and awareness for the victims of the wildfires that devastated various counties surrounding the greater Los Angeles Area. The poster I submitted aims to ground the very idea of the disaster by connecting the fires to the location in a way that feels inescapably relevant.
Production materials were carefully chosen to resemble charred wood. I worked closely with Kamron Motamedi at American Printing in Menlo Park, CA to print the poster using Metallic ink and a rep from Mohawk Paper to donate a 80 pound uncoated black stock for the project. Adding to the preciousness of the piece, the poster was printed in a limited quantity and includes a memorial/credits section in the bottom left corner.
